 to future endeavors. Offered in the spring and early summer\, the lifeguar
 d certification provides participants 15 years of age and older with the k
 nowledge and skills to prevent\, recognize\, and respond to aquatic emerge
 ncies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies\, injuries
 \, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel t
 ake over. Attendance Policy Participants must attend all of the scheduled 
 class dates and times in order to complete the course and be certified as 
 a lifeguard. If a participant misses any part of the course they will not 
 be certified. No exceptions. Successful completion of the course results i
 n a 2-year certification in lifeguarding\, first aid\, CPR for the profess
